Our Spokane youth need your help!
One in five students in Spokane County are dropping out of school.*
A recent Spokesman Review article indicated that it is imperative to reach kids as early as the 6th grade to keep them in school. Studies have proven that dropping out of school unfortunately begins a lifelong chain of despair, predisposing individuals to unemployment, poverty, reliance on public assistance, and poor health to name a few.
Gonzaga University School of Education research aims to curb rising high school drop-out rate with priorities on educational attainment. They have a plan in process including extended learning opportunities such as Junior Achievement and other after-school mentoring program.
Help us and "STEP-UP" for our kids!
